BP55 - God Loves You


Friend…

God loves you.

He loves you not because you’re a well-behaved person but because He’s so prodigally extravagant and inexpressively good that He cannot help but love you. At the risk of sounding blasphemous (and I pray you see the spirit behind what I’m about to write), I believe God loves you so much, and I believe He’s driven so much by the desire to give Himself away to you, that, where you and His desires for you are concerned, He almost doesn’t quite know what to do with Himself.

Have you ever felt that way about someone? Perhaps for your husband or wife? Or for a newborn child?

That’s what God’s love for you stirs within His own Heart! You, my friend, are that dear to Him… that valuable to Him… that loved by Him. YOU move the Heart of God Almighty!

Let me write that again (in case you missed it!): YOU... move the Heart of God Almighty—The Supreme Master of Forces and The Eternal Lord of War and God of Angel Armies!

Sit with that thought for a moment... maybe even all day today!

Again! YOU... move the Heart of God!

Our Father of Jesus—Our Father—is Lovingkindness [see 1Jn4:8, 16]. He is, and I write this most assuredly, The Source of All Love.

God acts; He never reacts. While He initiates love, He waits patiently (like a Gentleman) for your consent. The Godhead—God Our Father (The First Person of The Trinity), God the S-son (Jesus, The Second P-person of The Trinity), and God The Holy Spirit (The Third Person of The Trinity)—is, as His Word and Namesake declare, Disinterested Lovingkindness. By that I mean, God is Selfless Love and Perfect Everything. He is… Love without Self-centered Motive, Love without Inordinate Craving, Love without Hidden Agenda, Love that Encompasses All, and Love that Makes All Things and All No-things [life-giving expressions, generative creations] New.

God’s love for you is indeed truly genuine, overarchingly selfless, infusingly transformative, adventurously inspiring, and eternally given. Long before you ever think of asking God for what you need or want, He’s already given it to you by already giving you Himself. That’s the way God is. That’s how the economy of His lovingkindness operates in creation and especially in the human soul—including yours!

You, my dear friend, are very precious and pleasing to God. I urge you: Let God love you the way He wants, surrender to Him, and allow yourself to just fall back into His Loving Arms. I guarantee: You’ll never be the same. I write of this from personal experience.

TR Episode 12: The Great Pinky Toe Caper

  The Great Pinky Toe Caper [ September 9, 2017 ]   At about 8 this past Friday night, just as I’m getting ready to go to bed, I stub my left pinky toe on an iron support leg for the small planter stand I use as an end table for my wooden rocking chair.   Looking down at my left foot, I see what looks like red stuff congregating around the toe I’ve just stubbed.  Sitting down in my rocking chair, I raise my foot (to give it a look) just in time to see a significant amount of red stuff start dripping-out onto the floor.  It seems, in stubbing my toe, I ripped-off about half my nail.  Surprisingly, it doesn’t seem to hurt much.  I don’t have my reading glasses on so I can’t really see what my toe looks like; but I can see a lot of red, and that tells me I definitely hurt something.   Mind you, I’m really tired.  And, no I haven’t had anything to drink as I’m quite sensitive to alcohol.   Anyway, as I sit there watching blood pool on the floor, I think to myself, Hmmm... maybe I

TR Episode 13: My Desiderata

 Greetings, friends... I wrote this list of meditative aspirations about two months after my late wife, Brenda Hollis (9/29/66-6/3/02), passed away on June 3, 2002. It’s a list of the things I wanted in life at the time. Now, more than twenty-one years later, most of these things have become so much a part of me that they’re no longer just meditative aspirations—they’re things I experience and enjoy regularly.
