BP 74 - A Prayer I've Been Praying for a While Now

Greetings...

Below is the test of a prayer I've been praying for a while now.  Perhaps you'll begin to pray this (or something like this) yourself.

Lord Jesus Christ…

 

I long to be and become…

 

1/Wholly Alive (that is, Wholly Martyr-like until my martyrdom in “this current Earth-life” is carried-out).   

 

2/Thoroughly Converted.

 

3/Thoroughly Surrendered to Y-you (that is, Brought by Y-you to that Eternal Time, Space, and Place, where I’ve completely yielded myself to Y-you, where I’ve seen and offered myself to Y-you as Wholly Y-yours, and… where I’ve begun to relate—intimately and unreservedly—to Y-you as My Everything).

4/Thoroughly Carved, Shaped, and Transformed (Artisanally) into Loving-heartfulness [see definition below] (that is, into Y-your Loving-image and -likeness) that I might indeed be and become Love Loving.

 

Loving-Heartfulness, a definition…

 

Heartfulness means to be full of heart… to live from one’s heart (that is, the true center of one’s being).  Heartfulness can be described as a compassionate mindfulness; it’s the quality or state of being completely genuine, compassionate, and present in one's thoughts, feelings, and actions toward oneself and others.  To be and become Lovingly-heartful, is to be and become Just Like God:  Love Personified and One Who’s Completely Genuine, Compassionate, and Present in His [or Her] Thoughts, Feelings, and Actions Toward Oneself and Others.  God Is Loving-heartfulness… in Their Essence and by Self-definition.

 

5/Thoroughly Conformed to The Divine Order [The Logos] of Y-your Wise Ways of Living, Being, Thinking, Feeling, Intuiting, Sensing, Perceiving, Acting, and Relating.

 

6/Thoroughly Freed from Evil, Evil’s Alluring and Ensnaring Influences, and all that which INORDINATELY Hurts, Injures, Limits, Restricts, Restrains, Diminishes, Desolates, Disintegrates, or Stifles Me in any Shape or Form.

 

And…

 

7/Holy, Healthy, and Happy in You.

 

Amen, and AMEN!!  O Living, Illuminating, and Loving God… MAY IT ALL BE SO!!

BP 72 - Get Your Black Belt

  I tell folks all the time: "Get your black belt in 'something,' and then start exploring other arts." Every martial art (MA) has it's gaps. What are the gaps in yours? Once you get your black belt in one MA, you've graduated kindergarten. Now it's time to start exploring and filling the gaps. You do this, by enrolling in another kindergarten program... And then another... And then another... The cool thing is that you never really move beyond kindergarten. You just keep enrolling in one kindergarten program after another. BP 32 - Self-knowledge, a meditation

It’s been said that the highest form of human knowledge is self-knowledge. I both agree with and disagree with this statement. My disagreement lies, mostly, with the stopping of the argument at the general (and exquisitely broad) category of “self-knowledge.” To begin, what is self-knowledge? Is it knowledge? Certainly. Knowledge about oneself? Most assuredly. But it’s more—MUCH MORE!!—than just knowledge about oneself. Self-knowledge is knowledge about oneself that’s truly “lived” and “experienced.” In a word, self-knowledge is “wisdom;” and it’s real (that is, based in reality) and not abstract [considered apart from concrete existence; not applied or practical; theoretical; difficult to understand; abstruse].
